Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you are hiring us for an interior or exterior painting project in Florida, or need wallcoverings, wood repair or other services, you likely have questions before committing to a contract. Below are answers to many common questions we receive from our clients. If you don’t see your specific question below, feel free to contact us directly so we can assist you.

1.

Q: I have received several estimates from different painting contractors and there seems to be a wide variance in the price. Why is that?

A. There are many factors to be considered when reviewing a painting estimate.  Unlike Proietto Painting, many new or inexperienced companies may not be licensed, bonded, and insured. In addition, many companies may use inexperienced, lower rate painters that may not be trained in safety measures or on proper techniques for surface preparation.

Another factor to take into consideration is the quality of the products that they are using and if they are offering any warranty on their products or work. Some paints may be lower in cost but will fade out over a shorter period of time.  It is important to consider all of these issues when hiring your painting contractor.

2.

Q: If I hire Proietto, does someone need to be home while you are working on the interior?

A: No, in fact, most people are not home during the day and arrangements can be made in advance to accommodate your schedule. Our employees are all bonded and insured and have undergone extensive training and background checks before they enter your home.

3.

Q: This will be the first time that we will be using an outside paint contractor - what information should I request in my job estimate?

A: Your estimate should be tailored to your individual needs and include the job specifications.  At a minimum they should include the following items:

  • Lead point of contact information

  • Detailed cost breakout

  • List of all products to be used on the job

  • A clear description of all areas to be painted–

  • Colors you chose for the project–

  • Schedule of the work, complete with time frames–

  • Any specific terms and conditions are specific to your project–

  • Warranty Information

Be sure to have your estimate signed and dated by an agent of the company.

4.

Q: Can you work around our schedule?

A: Yes, we are equipped to meet your timing and scheduling needs, and can make arrangements for the project to be completed even if you are unable to be on the premises.

5.

Q: Do your foremen speak Spanish and English?

A: Our Company employs numerous bilingual employees.  To allow for proper communication, we will be able to accommodate your needs to ensure that there will be no language barriers.

6.

Q: Do you have references that I can contact?

A: We would be happy to provide you with a list of references for you to contact. We have been in business since 1988 and have built a very strong reputation in our industry.

7.

Q: Can Proietto Painting help me pick my colors or wall covering designs?

A: As painters and wall covering experts, we can give you advice on products and materials, but you or your interior designer are responsible for color choices and designs for your room.

8.

Q:  Are the chemicals used in power washing dangerous?

A: No. Any chemicals we use are environmentally friendly and will not damage your building in any way.

9.

Q: Do you need to power wash prior to painting?

A: Yes, the first step to getting a nice clean surface to paint is to pressure wash. The price of power washing all surfaces to be painted is included in the price of your paint job.
